Hand on the heart: For me there was Edamame only in the restaurant until recently.
But: Then I laughed at a pack of TK-DEMAME in the supermarket. And I thought “it can’t be that difficult …”. So I packed the beans and lo and behold: For this recipe for homemade Edamame you only need a pot and 5 minutes Time!
Edamame: What is that anyway?
Edamame are super healthy, immature harvested soybeans. The snack is low in calories, but very nutrient -rich and is often served as an appetizer in the restaurant. Traditionally you get the beans in the bowl and sprinkled with a lot of sea salt.

Sounds good? Then I now tell you which ingredients you need to easily prepare Edamame at home.

You get unpopular Edamame in Asia shop or in Well -stocked supermarkets -each in the TK department. It is important that you buy with a shell for the version. Because the popping from the bowl is half the fun of eating. 😉
Salt and sea salt
Huch, double salt? Yes! Because we cook the beans in salt water and end up sprinkle with a lot of rough sea salt. Yummy!
Tip: If you don’t get frozen edamame with bowl, you use the peeled version. Edamame from the glass or can taste different, so it is better to take the TK variant.

Prepare frozen edamame
Your beans are already waiting in the TK? Then let’s prepare a large portion of Edamame!
Step 1: Cooking Edamame beans
First of all, you cook the undiminished beans in 500 ml salt water for 5 minutes.
Step 2: pour out and salt
Now you pour the beans into a sieve. Important: You don’t have to rinse them. Drain briefly and sprinkle with sea salt, done!
Now you pop the beans out of the bowl directly into your mouth. The super delicious snack is ready!

Prepare Edamame – your most common questions
You can get unpopular Edamame in the Asia shop or in well-stocked supermarkets-each in the TK department. You can often find the peeled version in the discounter in the frozen products.
To do this, give the frozen edamame beans with a bowl in a saucepan with salt water and they 5 minutes. Then just pour through a sieve, drain briefly and serve with sea salt.
“Do I eat Edamame with or without a shell?” – Maybe you have asked yourself the question. The answer: without! To do this, simply press the beans from the shell on the side, done.
