We need these ingredients …
- 500 g garden cucumber
- 75 g of mixed bacon
2 onions - 1 eating spoon butter
- 1 eating spoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons of vinegar
- Salt
- pepper
- tarragon
- Dill flowers
- 1–2 teaspoon of cornstarch

And so it is done …
Peel, halve the cucumbers, scrape out the seeds with a spoon. Cut the cucumber into thick slices. Dice the bacon, peel onions and cut them into small pieces. Melt the butter in a casserole, fry the bacon in it with the onions. Put the cucumber pieces in the pot with a pinch of sugar and cover for 20 minutes. Deglaze with vinegar depending on the taste and season with salt, pepper and the chopped herbs. If the cucumbers are still too firm, they can continue to braise for a few minutes, possibly add some water. Finally, tie the cucumber stud with a little cornstarch and finally season. A breaded chop with salt potatoes fits these cucumber.
